Community support:

Urban mission

Citizen Advocates proudly presented a $10,000 donation to Watertown Urban Mission in support of the inspiring work it does to help community members in need.

“Most people would be surprised to learn just how much Watertown Urban Mission does in terms of either directly helping people, or connecting them with the services that can,” said James Button, CEO of Citizen Advocates. “They are one of the many organizations in our region that operate on a grassroots level, ensuring that no one falls through the cracks when it comes to providing access to essential, safety net services.”

“We are beyond grateful for this generous gift and look forward to working with Citizen Advocates as they roll out a new program model in our local community,” said Dawn Cole, Executive Director of Watertown Urban Mission. “The Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic will complement existing programming within the County, strengthening our collective capacity to provide critical stabilizing services to those who are most vulnerable.”

In addition to plans for a Behavioral Health Urgent Care Clinic in Watertown, Citizen Advocates has dedicated time to meeting with a broad range of civic leaders, organizations and healthcare providers in the community. Watertown Urban Mission is one of the groups Citizen Advocates recently met with, followed by a tour of its facility.
